TmoDBNav 1.1 Installation Instructions

Updated 8/4/96

  1. Before installing a new component, you should always back up your component palette (in the Bin subdirectory: Complib.dcl in Delphi 1.0 and Cmplib32.dcl in Delphi 2.0).

  2. Unzip dbnavnew.zip into any directory. It is a good idea to put these files into a subdirectory of your Delphi directory to avoid making the search path too long. You might want to put them into a directory called "Nav".

  3. Start Delphi. If a project is open, you should close it before continuing.

  4. In Delphi 1.0, select Options | Install Components...

In Delphi 2.0, select Component | Install...

  5. In the Install Components dialog box, click the "Add" button.

  6. In the Add Module dialog box, click the "Browse" button.

  7. Change the file type filter to "Source file (*.PAS)" if necessary.

  8. Find the file and in Delphi 1.0, click "Ok" in Delphi 2.0 click "Open".

  9. Click "Ok" to rebuild the library with the new component.

  10. You will find TmoDBNav on the Samples page.

For more information on installing components and customizing the component palette, refer to the Delphi help or documentation.

If you are replacing an existing version of this component, you should rebuild any projects using it to guarantee that you are referencing the most up-to-date source.
